The speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Matviyenko called the undermining of the “Nord Streams” a state terrorist attack
The speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, said that the blowing up of the Nord Streams could not have been committed at an amateur level and called the incident a state terrorist attack, reports TASS.
According to her, such a high-tech operation requires serious preparation. She clarified that blowing up gas pipelines requires special equipment, explosives, underwater and surface entrances, as well as people trained for this, so only professionals could perform such an operation.
“I say that this is a state terrorist act, because it is impossible to undermine the gas pipeline in the center of the Baltic Sea without the consent of the heads of state, even if this was not done on their instructions,” the senator said.
Matvienko stressed that Russia is going to seek a serious independent investigation into the attack. She noted that the UN should create a special commission, which will include independent specialists, scientists and experts.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called Denmark’s refusal to include Moscow in the investigation into the explosions at Nord Stream a fraud and a scam.
