To optimize the performance of your smartphone and protect personal data, it is recommended to disable some “automatic” functions. This was announced on Saturday, September 17, by Denis Kuskov, CEO of Telecom Daily.
“If you do not particularly need the location service, it is better to deselect the default. In the background, it collects data for many applications that do not need to know where you are at all, ”he said in a conversation with the agency“Prime”.
It is important to pay attention to what data each new application requests access to during installation, and to control this aspect yourself, Kuskov says.
Also, the interlocutor of the agency advised to reduce the brightness of the screen, as it can be set too high by default and overload the user’s vision. In order not to waste once again the traffic and charge of the smartphone, according to the expert, you should disable automatic application updates.
A day earlier, the head of the working group on legislation in the field of Internet technologies and digitalization, Vadim Vinogradov, warned against thoughtlessly agreeing to the terms of use of Internet sites, including cookies.
He stressed that any user agreement is not just an informational text, but also a legally binding document. It indicates what data is collected, how it is stored and to whom it can be transferred, and it is better to find out about this in advance so as not to become a victim of scammers.
At the same time, Igor Bederov, head of the information and analytical research department at T.Hunter, said that developers of smartphones and operating systems can listen to the conversation of the owner of the gadget at any time, since they have the right to regulate remote access to any functions and sensors of the device, including the microphone and speaker.
