The result of manual counting and sorting was 100% identical to the results of electronic counting and sorting, according to local sources.
Imad Jamil, a member of the media team in the commission, says that “the stations that were subject to investigation and audit based on the decisions of the Judicial Commission for Elections numbered 978, and were affiliated with the governorates of Baghdad, Najaf, Muthanna, Nineveh and Dhi Qar.”
Jamil added to “Sky News Arabia”: “I was counted and sorted again, and the results were identical to the electronic sorting, and I completed its minutes and will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners, which will write down its recommendations about it and attach it to the appeals and refer it to the judicial authority for final consideration. Most likely, it will be decided in the middle of next week, thus ending the stage of appeals. “.
As a result, the Judicial Authority for Elections will send its final decisions to the Commission on the totality of the appeals, which were 1,436 appeals, including 6 substantive appeals, as the official in the Electoral Commission explains.
Jamil explained: “Then the commission will announce the final results of the elections within a week or two at the latest, and will submit them to the Federal Supreme Court for approval or to make observations, according to the objections it receives and as it sees fit.”
Political forces, most of which are affiliated with the Popular Mobilization factions, expressed their rejection of the election results, which lost the majority in Parliament, in favor of the Sadrist movement, which came to the fore.
With the commission announcing the completion of the counting and manual counting, the final results will not differ from the initial only by changing some seats between competing blocs, which means that the scene will remain the same overall, and that the size of the parliamentary political forces will not undergo any significant change, which observers fear will lead turmoil and unrest after the announcement of the results in its final form.
The rate of participation in the early Iraqi parliamentary elections, according to the commission, was 43 percent, with the participation of more than 9.5 million voters who cast their votes out of about 22 million Iraqis entitled to vote.
