Cravings for junk food can be due to a variety of reasons, including health problems. So, dependence on fatty sour cream, meat and sauces can signal the presence of parasitic diseases, Tatyana Meshcheryakova, a nutritionist at the Level Kitchen service, a nutritionist, an expert in the field of healthy nutrition, told Izvestia on April 4.
“The habit of sweet and fatty is often associated with the presence of fungi or parasites in the body. So, often dependence on fatty sour cream, meat and sauces can signal the presence of parasitic diseases, ”said Meshcheryakova.
At the same time, she noted that after undergoing specialized detox or antiparasitic programs, people quite often change their eating habits, cleansing occurs at a deep cellular level.
In general, speaking about the reasons due to which it can be drawn to junk food, the nutritionist identified three key ones: physiological, psychological and social.
Physiological, according to her, is when a person intuitively understands that he needs a particular product.
“So, pregnant women are often drawn to chalk – the body thus signals a lack of calcium. Most often, such cravings are associated with a deficiency of a mineral (chromium, calcium, zinc, selenium). Another example – the desire to eat something salty can be associated with acidification of the body and a deficiency of alkaline minerals, among which sodium is the key, ”explained Meshcheryakova.
The psychological one is connected with the fact that the body wants to drown out the negative emotion with something tasty. For this reason, people often eat tasty foods when they are in a bad mood or even stress, the doctor said.
“Moreover, they may not necessarily be sweet – both salty and fatty. Quite often, it is the psychological reason that makes those who eat right break down. Too frequent and severe restrictions often lead to breakdowns and emerging feelings of guilt. To avoid this, you can periodically give yourself relief. For example, once a week to allow a controlled violation of the meal plan, ”she advised.
Also, according to the nutritionist, the so-called social reason can be the cause of cravings for harmful products. In this case, we are talking about formed habits that are imposed on a person from the outside.
“A typical imposed product is coffee. This drink does not “close” any needs of the body, it is just an imposed habit. If desired, people can easily refuse coffee at the level of understanding and awareness. After analyzing your diet, you can quite easily find a few products that there is no need for – they are imposed on us by advertising or the environment, ”the nutrition expert emphasized.
Speaking about products that are recommended to be excluded, first of all, she advised to give up sugary carbonated drinks and energy drinks. It is also necessary to significantly limit the consumption of trans fats (hydrogenated oils, margarine), and especially salty foods (salted fish, seafood, sausages, canned vegetables) should be consumed no more than two to three times a week.
For those who eat a lot of sweets, the doctor recommended to move more in the fresh air. Also, according to her, the use of pharmacy chromium helps to wean from sweets.
“Of course, our body needs sweet tastes (women and children are especially dependent on sweets). It is quite normal when we consume a little sweet in the morning or afternoon, getting a boost of endorphins. Although, of course, there are those who completely exclude sugar from their lives and feel great, ”concluded Meshcheryakova.
