Having some of the best pilots and air traffic controllers in the world, aviation in Mexico has never been in more critical and risky conditions than now, after the redesign of the airspace carried out by this government as a result of the construction of the Felipe Ángeles airport.
The Benito Juárez has never been a model of operations and even less of facilities. Overcrowding of flights, puts operations at risk, and causes delays, diversions and not to mention bad weather days. Terminal 1 is an embarrassment, patched up, dirty, narrow, insufficient, just like terminal 2, which is sinking day by day, both smelly and crowded with commercial concessions that complicate access even more, with authorities busy with the flea market business more than in passenger safety and mobility.
This aircraft terminal operates within its limits, with more than one operation per minute, which is another risk, aggravated by this redesign of the airspace in which incidents that have endangered operations, crews and passengers have multiplied, according to to complaints from national and international pilots.
The situation reached a crisis on Saturday at Benito Juárez, when a Volaris plane was authorized to land on runway 5-I, which had another waiting to take off at the head. Only the skill of the pilot prevented the tragedy.
And once again we are facing another expression of the lack of managerial capacity of this government when an airspace is redesigned and the tools are not provided, nor is there the technological or human capacity to operate it efficiently and safely.
Thus the things in the stellar times of the 4-T.
