The UAE ambassador to Khartoum, Hamad Muhammad Hamid Al-Junaibi, affirmed the strength, durability and depth of relations between the UAE and Sudan, pointing out that this is clearly evident in the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to quickly send aid to the victims of the floods in Sudan.
The ambassador said that the relations between the two countries constitute a model in the bilateral relations between brotherly countries, explaining that the UAE’s response comes within the framework of the solidarity of the UAE and its people with the brotherly Sudanese people in these current circumstances, as the state sent urgent aid to those affected and displaced due to the floods. and floods in Sudan, and to contribute to improving the living conditions of the affected population and families of the victims.
Al-Junaibi stressed that the UAE relief aid aims to support the Sudanese efforts and the capabilities of the concerned institutions in containing the humanitarian repercussions resulting from torrential rains and floods that hit large areas in brotherly Sudan. The number of beneficiaries of Emirati aid in Sudan reached 140,000 people, while the number of tents reached 10,000, in addition to 28,000 food and health aid parcels, within an air bridge consisting of 4 planes carrying 120 tons of aid. He added: “This aid sent by the United Arab Emirates, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, also falls within the framework of the UAE policy and its civilized humanitarian mission, which is based on extending a helping hand to affected communities around the world through programs Relief and humanitarian projects alleviate the suffering of these communities and promote their development.
He stated that the aid, which includes shelter materials, food supplies and medical aid, is a contribution from the UAE in achieving development and improving the living conditions of the affected population and families of the victims. The UAE relief aid weighs thousands of tons, and tens of thousands of affected people are benefiting from it in most of the Sudanese states. The ambassador said: As the wise leadership has emphasized on more than one occasion, the UAE always stands by Sudan in everything that achieves the aspirations and aspirations of its brotherly people for development, stability and prosperity, pointing to the convergence of visions and positions between the two countries towards regional and global issues.
