The works have been awarded for more than 17 million euros
The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, announced on Friday the award of the construction works of the Palace of Justice of Lorca for more than 17 million euros. The works will begin in the last quarter of the year and will have an execution period of two years.
The minister held a working meeting with the mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, at the headquarters of the Government Delegation and after the meeting informed the media that the project will allow “concentrating the currently dispersed judicial offices” in different buildings so that the new infrastructure is “totally sustainable, accessible and in step with the transformation and modernization of the justice model so that it is” efficient, fast and close to citizens “.
Mateos thanked the Ministry for “agility and speed” in processing the project and stressed that “it is not only an infrastructure to improve the public service of Justice, it is also a capital project for Lorca due to its location in the historic center”, which is in the rehabilitation phase. He added that “it will be a very important lever for the development of the city.”
The building will rise on a site located between Selgas, Galdo, Paradores and Palmera de Uceta streets, with a surface area of one thousand square meters. It will have capacity for 14 judicial bodies and will be built in a single phase, the mayor stressed.
The PP national deputy Isabel Borrego criticized this Friday the “delay” of the Palace of Justice project and pointed out that the one that was designed during the PP government “would already be inaugurated.” She added that “all the projects that the PP had were paralyzed” and Lorca would already have his good courts for the city and for the justice service.
