The CIA has launched a podcast program called “The Langley Files”, after the city of Langley, Virginia, where the headquarters of the US Foreign Intelligence is located.
The first of the “Langley Files” podcasts was hosted by CIA director William Burns, who said the goal of the initiative was to demystify decades of work and effort, and restore trust with the general public who had a misperception of foreign intelligence.
“Many Americans think that a foreign intelligence agent is one hero who drives the latest types of cars at speed and fights alone against multiple enemies, like James Bond or Jason Bourne in American cinema,” Burns said.
The director of the “CIA” added, “His children usually make fun of him because his car is old, and he does not look like typical movie characters that show the world of intelligence in a completely different way from reality,” he said.
