In Moscow, at the age of 81, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, Vyacheslav Lebedev, died, Lenta.ru reported.

Lebedev has served as Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia since December 1991. Before that, he headed the Supreme Court of the RSFSR for two years. As Kommersant writes, while working in the Moscow City Court in the mid-1980s, Lebedev participated in issuing convictions in criminal cases for carrying out anti-Soviet activities.
