The PP spokesman indicates that they do not now plan to reform the electoral law, although he believes that the previous system was better
The Regional Assembly restarts its parliamentary activity today after the summer period, to complete the fourth year of this tenth legislature that has a calendar marked by the next regional elections. The Chamber will be dissolved on March 30, given that on April 3 the autonomous and municipal elections of May 28 will be officially convened. This morning, at 9:00 am, a joint meeting of the members of the House Bureau and the Board of Spokespersons will be held to prepare the calendar for the legislative year.
Later, at 9:30 a.m., the five components of the Assembly Table will meet to decide on the possible admission for processing of the initiatives presented by the five parliamentary groups. Finally, at 10:30 am, the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons will take place to organize the parliamentary activity for next week.
One of the laws that may enter the Assembly in the coming months is the reform of the regional electoral law, although the spokesman for the Popular Parliamentary Group, Joaquín Segado, stated yesterday “categorically” that his party and the regional government do not plan now undertake said change to return to the previous system of five constituencies and 5% of the votes to have parliamentary representation
Mowing points out that in May it will be necessary to choose “between the populism of the PSOE” and the “solvency” of López Miras and Feijóo
“At the moment, there is no draft, nor has the subject been discussed. About what may happen in a few months, I have no idea, “said Segado. «I do not hide that, personally, the current electoral law seems unfair to me. I believe that the other system with which we have lived for many years is better. It’s my opinion,” he stressed.
The popular spokesman pointed out that in the next elections “we will have to choose between the model embodied by Pedro Sánchez, the model of the PSOE and populism, and a model of solvency and economic freedom embodied by Fernando López Miras and Alberto Núñez Feijóo.” He considered that the PP «defends the Region of Murcia, against a model that protects the interests of Pedro Sánchez», and that it is based on «lower taxes». He added that his party watches over the Tajo-Segura Transfer, “which for 42 years has been bringing wealth and employment”; as well as for the infrastructure “that this region needs to continue growing,” PP sources reported in a statement.
Mowing said that the PSOE, on the contrary, «has raised 24 taxes; who wants to put an end to the Diversion and condemn us to a permanent drought; a model that punishes us every time they have to make a decision regarding infrastructure; and a model of unemployment that socialist governments always embody.
