during the past State of Plaand from March 9, Konami ad Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collectiona collection made up of a lot of games of The ninja turtles. Like many other franchises in the world of entertainment, these four brothers have had multiple setbacks throughout history, but they have also given us a few experiences that you definitely cannot miss, especially if you are a fan of this saga, and here We share the five best.
TMNT 2: The Arcade
Usually, when an arcade game was ported to consoles, the experience was pretty bad. Luckily, that wasn’t the case when TMNT 2: The Arcade hit the NES. Although the four-player experience had to be ditched altogether, the game added more levels and offered a higher level of challenge than its arcade counterpart. For many, this was the title that introduced them to beat’em ups, and to this day, it is still considered one of the best in the genre.
TMNT: Hyperstone Heist
Hyperstone Heist was a title that debuted for the SEGA Genesis and served as a companion to Turtles in Time on the SNES. Like many Genesis games, the biggest difference between the two was speed. In addition to introducing a button to run, Hyperstone Heist kept up a better pace with fewer but longer levels than Turtles in Time, as well as more aggressive enemies. While both of these games are undoubtedly fantastic, the changes brought to Hyperstone Heist definitely earn it a spot on this list.
TMNT-Arcade
This is a game that many consider to be the true father of beat ’em ups, and a turning point in the genre. With up to four player simultaneous action, you and each of your friends could play a different turtle. This Ninja Turtles game in the arcades has been one of the highest points in the entire history of the franchise, although obviously, those that follow it on this list have had much greater contributions.
TMNT 3: The Radical Rescue
TMNT 3: The Radical Rescue was a truly revolutionary title for its time. The game debuted for the Game Boy way back in 1993 and basically functioned as a kind of Metroidvania. It had backtracking as well as abilities that allowed you to gain access to previously locked down areas. We achieved this by rescuing each of the four turtles, as each had their own set of unique abilities that made it easier to progress the game in certain areas.
TMNT: Turtles in Time
Turtles in Time essentially defined all other beat ’em ups that came after. It had stunning graphics with detailed sprites, a wide variety of enemies and bosses, and extremely interesting levels to explore. Turtles in Time not only allowed you to throw enemies, it allowed you to throw them directly at the screen and it was always quite rewarding to see the animation that came out of this. With 10 levels centered around the theme of time travel, Turtles in Time is not only the best game in the entire series, but also one of the best beat em’ ups in history.
