Reef Entertainment suggests new projects related to Terminator.
The film franchise of Terminator has had several links with video games. From side-scrolling titles released on the NES to third-person shooters launched in the mid-2000s.
The character is so iconic that games like Fortnite and Mortal Kombat 11 have made Terminator a playable character. The franchise is still getting games, like Terminator: Resistance, released in 2019.
Developed by Teyon and published by Reef Entertainment, Terminator: Resistance is a first person shooter set in the dark future of the first two films, with the “Future War” scenario as the main backdrop. The game launched with a mixed reception, with many citing the game’s AI and shooting mechanics as the game’s biggest shortcomings. That said, it has garnered a cult following among fans, as the reviews on Steam prove, despite its flaws. For this reason, the publisher appears to be suggesting some new Terminator-related content.
Reef Entertainment posted a tweet featuring a picture of a damaged uniform, along with a set of written instructions. The tweet indicates that this “message” is from John Connor, the protagonist and leader of the Resistance against the Terminators. The tweet claims that the mission requires players to meet DN38416 to investigate the missing residents, along with a close-up of the soldier’s uniform and a series of numbers and letters.

Many longtime fans of the franchise have easily reconstructed the meaning of the image, with the numbers and letters being a reference to the sergeant. Kyle Reese, a prominent character from the first Terminator movie. Some fans have speculated that there may be a future game or that it could be a DLC for Terminator: Resistance. Whereas Reese is the one who goes back in time to save Sarah Connor, coupled with Resistance’s focus on future warfare, it’s possible it could be a story DLC that focuses on Kyle Reese’s efforts before he traveled into the past.
The tweet ends by saying that more news will be shared shortly. Considering that Terminator: Resistance received an improved PS5 version this year, it makes sense that the publisher wants to provide some additional content or a new game.
Terminator: Resistance is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox One.
