Tennis | The semi-final opponents of Harri Heliövaara and Lloyd Glasspool had to give up

Heliövaara and Glasspool made it to the final match of the Metz tournament easier than expected

Harry Noise hazard survived his doubles pair by Lloyd Glasspool with easier than expected to the final match of the ATP tournament in Metz.

The duo won the opening set of the semifinal match Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin against 6–4, after which the French duo had to give up the match.

Mahut suffered from back problems in Saturday’s match.

“It’s good that we got our strong game going in the first set. The opponent then stated that they no longer have a chance to try and win,” Heliövaara summed up the match that lasted a good 34 minutes.

Heliövaara noticed Mahut’s difficulties with his British partner, and it made it a little difficult to concentrate.

“Today, from the beginning, there was a feeling that the opponent could not play to their full potential,” Heliövaara continued.

“Then the dynamic of the match is different. I feel like I should win, but the opponent can play without pressure.”

Sunday’s final opponent is familiar. Polish Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski defeated Heliövaara and Glasspool in the semifinals of the Winston-Salem ATP tournament in August.
