Text is under analysis in the Chamber of Deputies; author of the project says that many candidates travel to take part in the competitions
The law project 5,204 of 2023 wants to exempt candidates registered in public competitions from paying fees and fines to reschedule airline tickets in the event of a change in test dates. The text is under analysis in the Chamber of Deputies.
The candidate must forward to the airline or travel agency that issued the ticket, within 5 working days, the rescheduling request with proof of registration in the public competition and change of test dates.
Airlines will have 24 hours from the request to analyze and grant exemption from fees or fines.
The text also establishes that the ticket to the new date cannot be 50% more expensive than the one already purchased.
LOSS TO THE CANDIDATE
Author of the project, deputy Delegate Paulo Bilynskyj (PL-SP) states that it is common for public competition candidates to use air transport to travel from one city to another to participate in the tests.
The objective of the project, he explains, is to prevent candidates from being burdened with additional costs due to circumstances beyond their control.
“These test reschedules, in turn, usually occur on a date close to the originally scheduled date, being rescheduled for a few weeks in advance, which often leads to a large difference in prices”declares the author.
NEXT STEPS
The project will be analyzed in conclusive character, by the Road and Transport committees; Consumer Protection; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
