Tennis | Emil Ruusuvuori fights for the first victory of his career in the ATP tournament in India on Sunday: “I’m starting to like this place”

Emil Ruusuvuori played himself in the ATP final.

Finland tennis hope Emil Rose Mountain has advanced for the first time in his career to the final of the men’s tennis ATP tournament.

Rose Mountain took the final place in Pune, India, where he defeated Poland in the semi-finals Kamil Majchrzakin erin 6–3, 7–6 (7–0).

In the second installment, Ruusuvuori was already at a loss of 3–5, but fought with a break in the feed to 5–5. The lot progressed to 6-6 in the playoffs, where Rose Mountain did not give his opponent a point.

Rose Mountain is ranked 87th on the world list, Majchrzak 95th. The match lasted an hour and 46 minutes.

The final resistance of Ruusuvuori, 22, will be decided later today. He will face either Sweden in Sunday’s final Elias Ymerin or Portuguese Joao Sousan.

Rose mountain was very pleased with the final place after winning the semi-finals. She enjoys Pune.

“I’m starting to like this place. I haven’t lost a single one yet, I’m really happy. The second installment was flat, and the little one was caught – I got off to a good start to the tie-break and the win,” Ruusuvuori said in a press release.

The last time the Finns played in the ATP doubles final before today’s victory at Ruusuvuori Jarkko Nieminen in 2013 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

On Sunday, Ruusuvuori will claim his first tournament win on the ATP tour. Only Nieminen has celebrated the tournament victory in the doubles match. He won the ATP tournament twice in his career, with the latter title coming in Sydney in 2012.
