Theme at 11.40 pm and Yle Areena (K12)

Otto Preminger cynical realistic courtroom drama Anatomy of a murder is based on a judge writer John D. Voelker to a truth-based novel published by Robert Traver.

Wendell Meyesin the script takes off in a tingling flight as it depicts the twists and turns of the legal process, the quick-witted legal nonsense of lawyers with all its strategic attacks and deceptions.

Justice knocker knocking Joseph N. Velch was the right judge. She milks out the exhausting laughter when she mentions the woman’s panties – which the victim said the prosecutor didn’t wear at all. The mood gets serious: as one side theme, the film takes into account the blame for the rape victim. The defense attorney orders how the victim should behave and dress.

In The film, completed in 1959, is, of course, a product of its time. And shocked by his dialogue.

It used words that had never been heard on the screen before: rape, intercourse, contraception, semen, sperm.

James Stewart’s shocked father even paid for a newspaper ad hoping no one would go to see the movie.

Hollywood policymakers reacted differently, with seven Oscar nominations. Duke Ellington jazz music won Grammy.

Preminger remembering the boundaries of film censorship as a sly taboo breaker. Golden arm (1956) brought drug addiction to light, A storm in Washington (1962) described the concealment of homosexuality in politics.

Sidney Lumetin The solution of jurors (1957) showed how prejudicially a lay jury could pronounce the death penalty. Preminger, for his part, showed what happened in the courtroom when he wanted to influence the jury.

These two films are considered the best legal dramas of all time, but the art of the 1950s and 1960s produced other notable American works, at the heart of which were legal struggles.

Genre the importance cannot be underestimated. The films strongly influenced public perceptions of court hearings, although it was not always understood that the laws of the various states of the United States do not materialize in the same way in other legal cultures.

In any case, Preminger’s pioneering work liberated film narration and paved the way for future television crime and lawyer series.
