Given the importance and opportunity that the Super Bowl represents, dozens of companies pay for their commercials to be broadcast on television.
The ‘NBC’ channel revealed that for this 2022 it received 6.5 million dollars (more than 25 billion Colombian pesos) for a 30-second commercial.
The minute of advertising could amount, according to specialized portals, to 10 million dollars (almost 40 billion). But nevertheless, most advertisers prefer 30 seconds or less to gain customers.
So they produce creative commercials, go to celebrities, comedians, special effects, among others. Coke, Pepsi, Apple, amazon they are some of the giants who do everything possible to gain attention during the breaks in the game.
Has Super Bowl advertising always been expensive?
Over the years, more companies ‘put their hands in their pockets’ so that their brand is in the American football final.
In the first edition, in 1967, the 30-second ads, as reported by ‘NBC’, cost an average of 40 thousand dollars (more than 150 million pesos at current exchange rates).
In contrast, by 2021, 30-second ads were already worth $5.5 million (more than $21 billion).
The cost for many is not exorbitant, considering the millions of people who are in front of their television to see the plays or the artist of the halftime show.
