After a long wait, “Stranger Things” premiered the first trailer for its fourth season a few days ago. This new installment will be divided into two parts, which will arrive in May and July of this year. Fans are very excited for the new chapters; However, over the years, exactly 6 since it debuted on Netflix, the plot has not been completely reinvented.
When the series came to streaming in 2016, it quickly became not only one of the most popular shows, but also became the perennial image of the quality catalog and what the streaming giant was capable of doing for its original content. .

The production created by Matt and Ross Duffer presented us with a plot set in the 80s, in the small town of Hawkins, in which laboratory experiments opened a portal to a dimension with monsters and terrifying dangers for our reality.
With each episode, in addition to giving us Eleven’s subplot and her past as a test subject, the concept of this parallel universe was explored. But, with three seasons on the table, the story hasn’t changed much. The young protagonists, now young adults, continue to face practically the same entity.
So far, they have practically only revised their formula for success and have reopened the Upside down as many times as they needed to continue extending their narrative, which has become somewhat predictable and even tiresome. It is as if they have become the new “Elite” with their same style delivery after delivery.

In fact, the third season of “Stranger things” was the perfect excuse to close so many years of success. In those chapters, the fans had everything: adventures with hints of terror, conspiracy action, youthful kitsch, hilarious moments and even a heartbreaking speech by Hopper, which undoubtedly brought more than one tear to the viewers.
But, with the post-credits scene, and the renewal of Netflix in between, it became clear to us that Hawkins still had more to tell, because despite having three seasons on him there are still loose ends, with seeds that they raised from the beginning.
In that sense, the origin of the Upside Down World remains to be known, we still do not have a backstory and a background on the MK Ultra experiments that they apply to children like Eleven, among other points.

In the ‘personal’ aspect of the protagonists, the story of Joyce and Hopper, added to the drama of teenage couples, like Mike and Eleven, establish that there are more threads to unite.
With all this, “Stranger things” has no choice but to continue growing. Their plot needs and should be closed, but they have one point against them: time. The leads and the waiting time between each release tend to be very long, which is why we will soon have 22-year-olds trying to fit into roles that began when they were 12 years old.

It is practically obvious that income is the main factor to push more narratives, which to a certain extent seem forced, and part of it lies in having built a universe as attractive as the one in this series.
Even so, it would be better if they start weaving the final stretch of their plot, before they tire the audience and they have to finish it out of obligation. However, the Duffer Brothers still do not plan to put a definitive stop to it, since it has been confirmed that there will be a 5 season and it may not be the last either.
