On October 2, the Ugandan president’s son wrote a tweet on his verified Twitter account, offering what appeared to be a dowry of 100 cows to marry Meloni.
About 850 people returned this tweet, and commentators were from all over the world, and their reactions to it were mixed.
But another tweet of the Ugandan president’s son not only received attention, but led to his removal from the command of the infantry forces, after he threatened to invade and control the capital of neighboring Kenya, without there being any reason for this threat.
Kenyan President William Ruto, who took office last September, has been friendly with Museveni, calling him “the father of the region” during his inauguration.
However, he announced the tweet raised the concern of the Kenyans and their foreign minister said he had a meeting with the Ugandan ambassador.
News agencies reported on Tuesday night, Wednesday, that Yoweri Museveni dismissed his son, Muhozi Kainerogaba, the prankster of the “singing general”, from commanding the infantry forces, knowing that he holds the rank of Lieutenant-General.
The Ugandan military commander confirmed his dismissal, writing on Twitter: “As I leave my beloved soldiers, let me pray for them.. God bless them and keep them (…)”.
The general’s last tweet before his dismissal caused concern in East Africa, where Uganda and Kenya are located, but his supporters say his tweets are just humor and should not be taken seriously.
In it, he said, “The task of controlling Nairobi takes about two weeks for me and my army.”
This tweet comes as a continuation of his repeated threat to invade the neighboring country.
In the past, the Ugandan military commander wrote tweets on his verified Twitter account that seemed to the Ugandans to be provocative and dangerous.
For example, he tweeted his support for the Tigray Liberation Front rebels in Ethiopia as well as the rebels in eastern Congo.
An army statement announcing Kainerogaba’s departure from the ground forces command said the president’s son has been promoted from assistant general to general and will continue to serve as a senior presidential advisor for special operations. The army did not give a reason for the decision, according to “Reuters”.
