SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The 2021/22 soybean harvest reached 71.68% of the entire Brazilian area, ahead of the historical average of 66.21% for this season, said consultancy Pátria AgroNegócios in a note to clients.
Despite the progress, “field work in Brazil begins to lose its weekly rhythm, after the close of the harvest in the Central States of the country”.
In the last week, Brazilian producers harvested the equivalent of almost 3 million hectares of soybeans.
“The results show a lot of variability, with yields within Mato Grosso, Goiás and Tocantins bringing disappointing numbers in relation to initial expectations”, said Pátria AgroNegócios.
Rio Grande do Sul is still in the initial phase of the works, having reached 9% of the area, while Bahia harvested 45.5% of the area. Piauí surpassed 40%, while the harvest in Maranhão reached almost 50% of the crops.
