Sinner, Wada still has time to appeal Jannik’s acquittal
There are still a few days left to definitively put an end to the Clostebol case involving Jannik Sinner. The terms for a possible appeal by WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, to the CAS in Lausanne against the decision by ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) to exonerate the 23-year-old from Alto Adige after testing positive for minimal quantities of doping at Clostebol during the Indian Wells tournament in March have not expired.
The anti-doping rules (13.2.3.5) in fact grant an additional 21 days after thoseexpired yesterday, granted for a possible appeal, from the moment he received the additional documentation requested on the case.
Tennis: Wada asks for new documentation on Sinner case
The World Anti-Doping Agency, WADA, has asked for additional documentation on the case involving the Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner. As confirmed to AGI by sources from the world anti-doping agency, the documentation was requested within 21 days from Itiathe court that acquitted Sinner for the unwitting use of Clostebol, and this extends the deadline for filing a possible appeal to the CAS against the acquittal of the world number one.
