CDMX.- The economic reactivation of Mexico City, after the crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is going from strength to strength, the head of government said on Thursday claudia sheinbaumwho highlighted the indicators that have given impetus to the country’s capital.
We are very happy about it, after a difficult situation that we are experiencing in the whole world and particularly the big metropolises, which suffered a special crisis, and the City of Mexico was no exception, said the president of the capital.
The social support of the Mexican government, the social works of the capital administration, which push the economy from below and the efforts of businessmen, allow the economic recovery to go from strength to strength, Sheinbaum stressed.
The UNAM scientist highlighted that Mexico City has always been one of the entities in the country with the highest foreign investment, but in 2022 it was higher, and represented 34 percent of the Republic.
The mayor of the capital also pointed out that the country’s capital has two consecutive months with growth in formal employment and in different sectors of the economy, in terms of formal employment.
There has been an increase in employment much higher than in any other entity of the Republic, pointed out the head of Government.
The main engines of the city, Sheinbaum added, are commerce, which grew 7 percent annually in 2022; manufacturing, above pre-pandemic levels, and digital financial services.
