Sberbank raises mortgage rates on finished and under construction housing by 7.3 percentage points. This was announced on Tuesday, March 1, by the press service of the credit institution.
Now the mortgage rate will be from 18.6% per annum (previously – from 11.3%). This decision was made after the Central Bank of the Russian Federation raised the key rate by 20%.
The bank noted that the changes will not affect persons who have already received consumer and mortgage loans. In addition, the rates for state support programs remain at the current level: for families with children, the minimum rate is 4.7%, for loans for new buildings with state support – 5.8%.
The day before, the Bank of Russia raised the key rate to 20%. The Central Bank explained that this decision will help maintain financial and price stability, protect citizens’ savings from depreciation, and also compensate for increased devaluation and inflation risks.
After that, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to ensure the preservation of all lending rates specified in loan agreements. As explained in the Kremlin, we are talking about mortgages.
