The Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdanhas participated in the official inauguration of the 41st Federal Congress of the socialists that is held in Seville and that will re-elect Pedro Sánchez. The leader has presented his management report and has given a harsh speech in the face of the attacks and the judicial offensive against his party, and also against himself.
Cerdán has denounced the “strategy of manhunt, inside and outside our borders” on which the international reactionary wave is based and with the objective of “trying to overthrow a legitimate Government.” “There is a hate industry generating sludge, noise and bile without stopping with the aim of generating chaos,” said the socialist leader.
In Ferraz they denounce that they use “the usual lies”, but now “spread quickly with loudspeakers on TV programs in prime timein radio programs, on digital platforms, in social gatherings, on YouTube channels, on social networks or in long-standing press columns.” Cerdán has highlighted that these lies also occur “even in court.”

The number three in Ferraz’s leadership has insisted on denouncing the delegitimization of their electoral resultsdefamations and attacks on personal circles in order to weaken the socialists.
“The President of the Government knows this well. Never before has there been a similar attack against a legitimate president in democracy. We know why they attack us. They are coming after us because we represent everything they despise, what they hate: social justice, equity, the fight for equal opportunities, for gender equality,” Cerdán added.
“We represent dialogue, diversity, respect for those who think and feel differently. We represent the fight against any type of gap; we represent progress,” he commented.
“A way of life” is at stake
For the socialist leader, “what is at stake is not a political option, but an era, a way of life, that of the liberal democracies as we have known them until now.” For this reason, he said, the PSOE is “ready to confront them.”
