Sanremo, the counter-festival of the Christian song is born

The decision after the words of Bishop Suetta: “Towards the Christian faith vulgar and offensive forms”

Rome – It will debut on the same days as the historic Italian Song Festival the first edition of the Cristian Music Festival Sanremo 2022 – Festival of the Christian Song of Sanremo directed by Fabrizio Venturi.

“The intent is to create a creative union between song and faith and between song and praise to God – explains the artistic director – It will be possible, in this way, to create a song full of hope and courage and of that yearning that raises the soul very high, precisely because it draws on the most powerful language that God has given to man, namely music. The Festival, in fact, aims the intent to praise God through music in the City of Flowers, or rather in Sanremo, which is the place that best represents musical Italy. “The event will be held in Sanremo at the Auditorium of Villa Santa Clotilde, Opera San Orione, on 4 and 5 February 2022 and is aimed at performers, songwriters, bands and musicians.

“The Festival – as a note explains – was also born following the controversies raised last year by bishop of Sanremo, Antonio Suetta, who published a letter on the Diocese website in which he accused the Sanremo Festival of “lack of respect and derision towards the Christian faith exhibited in vulgar and offensive forms”.
