The leader of the Austrian league and current champion, RB Salzburg, announced this Wednesday an outbreak of coronavirus with 15 positives from the team and coaching staff, although it did not reveal any names.
As reported by the club, some of those affected have mild symptoms and all are in quarantine as recommended by the health authorities in Austria.
Given the large number of those affected, the training sessions scheduled for this Wednesday have been canceled and have been replaced by a program at home.
After the positives detected after two days of rest, the hygiene and safety measures in the team environment were also reinforced, such as the cancellation of public attendance at training.
Salzburg’s next match is this Sunday in the Austrian league against LASK Linz.
The Austrian teams have the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League against Bayern on March 8 in Munich.
