A man who had already been convicted of femicide murdered his new wife on her wedding day after thinking that her new partner was unfaithful.

Stepan Dolgikh, a 35-year-old man, met Oksana Poludentseva, 36, while he was in prison serving a sentence for murder.
According to the newspaper New York Post, Oksana Poludentseva met the man as a pen pal and, despite knowing about his previous murder conviction, thought she could change him and start a successful love relationship.
Some time later, once Dolgikh was released, the couple expected a big wedding, but the celebration turned into a tragedy.

Several wedding attendees recounted that after reading their vows, Dolgikh began kicking and beating his wife outside the house where the ceremony was held.
“He grabbed her by the hair, hit her and pushed her into the street, where he also continued to hit her body and her head,” the authorities reported, according to the newspaper El Clarín.
According to police, the man “became jealous” when he saw his wife chatting with a wedding guest and accused her of behaving improperly. In his confession, he claimed that he thought his new wife was unfaithful to him the very day they were married.
After beating her and seeing that the woman had no vital signs, he decided to throw his wife’s body into a ravine.

The events occurred in full view of the wedding guests, who claimed they were unable to prevent the murder, but called the police as soon as they could.
Stepan Dolgikh was captured for the murder of his wife at the scene and was taken to prison. Subsequently, he was sentenced to a new sentence of 18 years in prison for the femicide.
The man confessed to the facts: “He fully admitted his guilt during the investigation, but he did not repent,” said Petrushin, senior regional detective of the Russian Investigative Committee, as quoted New York Post.
