“The extent and depth of the current sanctions against the Russian economy were difficult to predict,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Wednesday. He also reported that, in the last two years, the country has prepared itself to reduce dependence on imports, with measures of financial restructuring of companies in the defense industry adopted by the government.
At a news conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Russian economy is currently under great pressure and “taking a huge blow” but that it will recover. “There is a reserve of strength, there is potential, there are plans, the work is being done with vigor. The economy will stand”, declared Peskov.
