French car brand Renault continues its electric strategy by adding ‘batteries’ to other models in its most recent range. Even the Kadjar suv will have its all-electric heir, with the official presentation that will take place at the Paris 2022 motor show, while production will start in 2023. Obviously microchip crisis permitting.
The indiscretion, reported by Auto Express, is related to an SUV that will be completely new, despite being based on the platform CMF-EV of the Alliance. It will market between Renault Mégane E-Tech and Nissan Ariya in terms of size and price range. The name has not yet been decided (even if it will not be called after the endothermic ‘relative’) but we know what it will replace: the Kadjar, in fact, with all its internal combustion offerings.
The model was introduced in 2015, with a length of about 4.45 meters; this feature will be confirmed, certainly with greater brevity than the Ariya. It will be a five-seater car with a 60 kWh battery taken for granted, but with the possibility of reaching 87 kWh. It will have more space than the current Kadjar and could go as far as guaranteeing a range of 500 kilometers with the most expensive set-up.
There is a lot of curiosity about the name that the model will have, but with the presence of Luca De Meo at the helm of the Renault group, it is not certain that we will get to brush up on a model of the past, thus exploiting its memory.
