In a press conference, the Giro d’Italia winner denied rumors of his retirement despite not yet finding a team: “I’m in a good condition to go on, I want to do it and I’m not giving up”
For days the rumors of his retirement were persistent. Without a team after three years at the French Arkea, Nairo Quintana today called a press conference from which many expected the announcement. Instead, the Colombian winner of the 2014 Giro d’Italia and the 2016 Vuelta relaunched: «I’m an honest rider, I’ve always been. In the last ten years of my career, I have undergone over 260 doping controls and have had no problems. I’ve been a pro since 2009, I followed the rules and rode with integrity. These moments of uncertainty have not been easy, but I have moved forward with the unconditional support of my family and staff who have never doubted my honesty and commitment to clean sport.”

The Colombian rider has revealed that he is looking for a team and wants to continue his career. “I’ll keep fighting and I’ll keep running as long as my body and mind resist-he added-I’m in a good condition to go on, I want to do it and I’m not giving up”.
