BRUSSELS (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday accused Russia of crossing a red line of barbarism in its war with Ukraine and said the West needed to “tighten the siege” with sanctions to put an end to the conflict.
“Vladimir Putin has already crossed the red line of barbarism,” Johnson told reporters as he arrived in Brussels for an unprecedented summit between members of the Western military alliance North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the G7 and the European Union. .
He said more sanctions needed to be imposed on Moscow.
“It is very important that we work together to make this happen. The tougher our sanctions… the more we can do to help Ukraine… the faster this thing can end,” she said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent troops to Ukraine in what he calls a “special military operation” to demilitarize and “denazify” Ukraine. Moscow denies targeting civilians.
