Video games continue to conquer the cinema box office every day: today it is released all over the world Unchartedfilm inspired by the video game by Naughty Dog which sees a young Nathan Drake, played by Tom Holland, grappling with his first collaboration with Sully. Yet not only the film is dedicating itself to the intellectual properties already on the market: Prime Video would seem interested in coming forward, especially given the handshake made with dj2 Entertainment, the company behind many video game-inspired movies. Some of these coming to Prime Video may have the name of Life is Strange And Disc Elysium.
The contract was closed between Amazon Studios and dj2 Entertainment, who co-produced the Sonic and that has long been specializing in bringing video games to the cinema. This deal would see the company produce exclusive content for Prime Video, and thus also TV adaptations of popular IPs of the video game.
dj2 Entertainment has already recently closed a deal with Hazelight Studios to do a content on It Takes Twobut now also the other projects interested in the company of Dmitri M. Johnson could see the light: among these, Life Is Strange and Disco Elysium certainly stand out. Amazon Studios, which has also been buzzing around the intellectual property of Mass Effect for some time, has now entered into a partnership with dj2 Entertainment. The company’s CEO said:
The dj2 team has always believed that one day video games would have served as interesting material to be told as a film or TV series, and that the failures of the past were due only to a lack of love and respect for the media. It is an honor to have Prime Video as a partner platform. A partner who really supports us, as well as supports our great ambitions, in telling the best videogame stories without limits and restrictions, which we aim for.
