Lukoki died in hospital on May 9. However, research has shown that there is no connection between the abuse and his later death. An autopsy has been performed on his body to clarify this. Police have not released a statement on the exact cause of death of the man.
Lukoki played in the Netherlands for Ajax, SC Cambuur and PEC Zwolle. He returned to the Eredivisie at FC Twente last year, but did not play due to a serious knee injury.
