The Pokémon Company announces that the expansion “Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret” for the Pokemon TCG. This expansion will introduce the Pokémon of Darkness type. Thanks to the skill Dominant Chains Of Pecharunt-ex it will be possible to exchange one of our active monsters on the field with a Dark-type one, thus modifying our battle strategy.

The new expansion introduces priceless cards for collectors with illustrations inspired by Japanese woodblock printing.
August 2, 2024 – The Pokémon Company International has released Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secretthe new expansion for the wildly popular Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), is available now at retailers worldwide.
Pecharuntoriginally discovered in the downloadable content The Treasure of theZero Area for video games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, will make its debut in the GCC Pokemon with the expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret as a Pokémon type Darkness. Players will be able to use the ability Dominant Chains of Pecharunt-ex to switch their Active Pokémon with one of the Darkness-type Pokémon on their Bench. Pecharunt-ex can be paired with Okidogi-ex, Munkidori-ex And Fezandipiti-ex to create different game strategies.
Furthermore, the holographic cards parallels of expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret will feature a new special foil design that highlights the card’s artwork. Cards from the foil parallel set will be identifiable by the expansion code in the lower-left corner of the card, which normally appears in a small black box with white text and will now appear in a small white box with black text.
The expansion cards Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret will be available in the following products:
- Elite Trainer Set from the expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes nine booster packs of this expansion, a rare promotional card with Pecharunt artwork, and various game accessories.
- Kingambit illustration collection from the expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes four booster packs from this expansion, a rare promotional card featuring Kingambit in the unique Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock print) style, and two holographic promotional cards featuring Pawniard and Bisharp.
- Kingdra-ex Special Illustration Collection from the expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes five booster packs from this expansion, a rare promotional card featuring a special illustration of Kingdra-ex in the unique Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock print) style, and two holographic promotional cards featuring Horsea and Seadra.
- Greninja-ex Special Illustration Collection from the Expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes five booster packs from this expansion, a rare promo card featuring special artwork of Greninja-ex in the unique Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock print) style, and two holographic promo cards of Froakie and Frogadier.
- Pack of three booster packs with promotional card from the expansion Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes three booster packs from this expansion and a holographic promo card featuring Pecharunt.
- Expansion Collector’s Box Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret (available August 2, 2024) which includes two booster packs from this expansion, a sticker sheet, and a card featuring art of Dusknoir, Zoroark, Okidogi, Munkidori, or Fezandipiti, matching the box.

Additionally, the expansion booster pack Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret which includes six booster packs from this expansion will be available starting September 6, 2024.
Trainers will also be able to play with Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret digitally on the Pokémon GO app. Pokémon TCG Live for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices. The expansion will be available in the in-game store, where players can redeem crystals, earned by completing daily objectives, for various Scarlet and Violet – Fairytale Secret products.
