Pineight is a classic story that almost everyone knows perfectly well. Because this story is in the public domain, hundreds of filmmakers have taken it upon themselves to create their own version of the wooden doll that wanted to be a real boy. Now it is Guillermo del Toro’s turn to join this group. Thus, The first trailer for this film has been released for Netflix.
Through its social networks, Netflix shared the first preview of pinocchio, stop-motion style animated film, which is co-directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson. In the teaser we can see Sebastián J. Grillo, who in English has the voice of Ewan McGregor.
Along with McGregor, Pinocchio features David Bradley as Geppetto, Gregory Mann in the role of Pinocchioas well as Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. This was what del Toro commented on this project:
“No art form has influenced my life and work more than animation and no character in history has had as deep a personal connection with me as Pinocchio. In our story, Pinocchio is an innocent soul with an indifferent father who is lost in a world he cannot understand. He embarks on an extraordinary journey that leaves him with a deep understanding of his father and the real world. I’ve wanted to make this movie for as long as I can remember.”
Along with this advance, Netflix confirmed that pinocchio will arrive on this streaming platform next December 2022, At the moment there is no specific date. On related topics, here is the first trailer for the GameStop documentary. Similarly, Netflix has confirmed a second season of Squid Game.

Guillermo del Toro is a fantastic filmmaker, and I can’t wait to see what his vision is for a classic story that many of us surely knew from Disney. Similarly, stop-motion animation is something that draws a lot of attention. Let’s just hope that this section is on par with history.
