The deputy commander of the Eighth Army, Major General Vladimir Frolov, who died during a special military operation in Ukraine, was buried in St. Petersburg at the Serafimovsky cemetery. This was reported in the press service of the city administration in Telegram.
According to the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, Frolov sacrificed his life so that children, women and the elderly in Donbas would no longer hear the explosions of bombs. “To stop waiting for death and, leaving home, say goodbye as if it were the last time,” he said.
The head of St. Petersburg stressed that Frolov is a hereditary military man. In addition, he called the major general “a true patriot, a brave and courageous person.”
Earlier, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, said that Russian Major Sergey Kashansky was killed during a special operation in Ukraine. The Russian military was 32 years old – he served under a contract in Novosibirsk. Uss expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
