Moscow sees “numerous ducks” about the allegedly planned “aggression” of Russia against Ukraine, but they do not hear a single word about Kiev. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said this on Monday, December 6, in an interview RTcommenting on Russian-American relations ahead of a conversation between the leaders of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, scheduled for December 7.
According to a Kremlin spokesman, now is a very difficult moment for this conversation, since the rhetoric sounds quite aggressive from both the American side and the European capitals. “We see these numerous ducks thrown about the allegedly planned“ aggression ”of Russia against Ukraine. At the same time, we do not hear a single word addressed to Ukraine, not a single warning addressed to Kiev in the sense that they would not even think about starting a military settlement of the situation in the southeast, ”Peskov said.
He noted that, together with the general difficult background of Russian-American relations, this is “a rather complex substance for tomorrow’s discussion.”
On December 4, the German newspaper Bild published information about two scenarios of the Russian “invasion” of Ukraine. According to the sources of the publication, the first scenario is a simultaneous attack on Ukraine from several fronts, the second is a phased attack. Expect this “attack”, according to their assurances, is already at the beginning of 2022.
The same day American newspaper The Washington Post citing officials in the US administration, she said that Russia at the beginning of next year allegedly intends to invade Ukraine, using “up to 175 thousand troops.”
On November 22, the American agency Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that, according to US intelligence, Russia could allegedly plan an attack on Ukraine in early 2022 and conduct it from three directions, including through Belarus.
On November 18, the Russian president said that the West was aggravating the dialogue with Moscow and was very superficial about Russia’s warnings not to cross the “red lines.” According to him, “Western partners exacerbate the situation by supplying Kiev with lethal modern weapons, conducting provocative military maneuvers in the Black Sea, and not only, but also in other regions close to our borders.”
On December 7, Putin and Biden will hold talks online, there will be no live broadcast of communication. Video communication will be held behind closed doors.
