The Canadian weekend of Sergio Perez. In fact, the Mexican Red Bull driver crashed into the protective barriers during Q2, in a qualifying session heavily conditioned by bad weather and a wet track. Perez missed the braking point in the delicate S of turn 3-4, stuck his front tires and went straight into the crash barriers. Checo made every effort to get the car back on track, trying to use reverse gear and also invoking the help of the marshals. The activity on the track was interrupted with red flags, but this was not enough for Perez to be able to disengage from the area where he was stuck.
After multiple attempts, the marshals invited him to get off the car, thus putting an end to his qualifying. Perez with this error was eliminated in Q2 and tomorrow will have to start from the center of the group, in 13th position. The winner of the Monaco race, currently second in the championship, will therefore risk losing other precious points in the standings from his teammate Max Verstappen and above all not maximizing the possibility of earning on Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, third in the championship standings and forced to leave 19th tomorrow for the replacement of the power unit.
