Horatio Pagani has very clear ideas about the next model that the homonymous car manufacturer of San Cesario sul Panaro will present in 2022: the founder of the brand has designed it and has already chosen its name, a name that is not yet ready to detect, with the car that will therefore still remain known with the code name C10 until the official debut which could take place between June and September next year. The Argentine entrepreneur, however, has anticipated some details about his new hypercar, starting with the engine and transmission that will be used.
During an interview with Quattroruote magazine, Horatio Pagani spoke about the engine that will equip the C10, a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes paired with a new sequential gearbox or manual gearbox. The latter option is a choice dictated by customers who have proven to be still linked to analogue and the emotions that this type of transmission can convey. “There are customers who didn’t buy the Huayra because we didn’t offer the manual gearbox option. My audience wants to feel emotions while driving: they don’t care about pure performance “ Pagani explained which then hinted that the C10 will not increase power compared to the Huayra, remaining below the 900 hp threshold. “The case of Gordon Murray’s T.50 is emblematic: it is sold out even though it has only 650 HP. It is very light, has a manual gearbox and a V12 that runs at very high revs. You don’t need 2,000 hp to excite the driver ”. Even in the case of the future Pagani hypercar, whose name has already been chosen and registered but which will not be revealed until the official preview, the number of units will remain limited, with a mix between coupe, roadster and special series that should not exceed the 300 units.
