We have traveled from Sweden to get to know the Finnish CustomSkin grip skis.
From a Finn ski innovation has been reduced throughout the spring. Now it has also been quoted by the Swedish public broadcasting company SVTwho has interviewed the maintenance manager of the Swedish cross-country team Anders Svanebota.
He reveals that the Swedish national team visited the new holding base in Finland in April.
“Everything was very secret, and we weren’t allowed to see what it looked like under the skis,” Svanebo tells SVT.
He describes the invention as the next generation grip sole ski.
“In warm and wet weather, it can be the winner’s choice,” Svanebo tells SVT.
SVT has quoted in its article Mightily news published at the end of April, according to which Johanna Matintalo kiisi in the World Cup in Falun, in the traditional top ten, just wearing the new skis.
A new kind CustomSki from Lahti was responsible for the development of the grip ski. The company is applying for a patent for its invention.
“There have been inquiries from various ski manufacturers, but I can’t tell you more about it. So we have been asked, among other things, whether the copyrights of our inventions are for sale. Well, it probably depends on the price”, the company’s CEO Esa Vironen told at the time.
The Estonian said that there have been contacts from both Finland and the world.
The new invention differs from the traditional grip sole ski in that it does not have a fur sole or any substance, but the grip is created from a factory-made grip area.
The Estonian says that the grip sole works at a competitive level, especially in watery weather and for exercisers in any condition.
