The Omani newspapers issued yesterday welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to the Sultanate, describing him as a “great guest”, while stressing that the visit will constitute a new transformation in the inter-relationships between the two countries, pushing them to further develop Integration for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
In its opening article, the Omani newspaper Al-Watan stressed that one of the most important things that unite the two countries is their quest to achieve a prosperous economic future for their peoples through the establishment of a solid and diversified economy capable of creating a better future. The two brothers, pushing and strengthening ways and areas of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various economic, commercial, cultural and educational fields, working to link electricity and telecommunications networks, coordinating land transport services and transportation procedures between the two countries through various border crossings, as well as enhancing opportunities and areas for joint investment.
The newspaper highlighted the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which amounted during 2021 to more than 5 and a half billion Omani riyals, compared to more than 5 billion and 231 million Omani riyals in 2020, which confirms the steady growth and reflects the cooperative pattern between them, and Emirati companies are among the companies. The largest investment in the Sultanate, due to the ease of transporting goods and the smooth and free movement of national products between the two countries through land ports, while the Sultanate of Oman is one of the most important markets for UAE trade, ranking third in the Arab world and tenth globally among the list of the UAE’s trading partners.
She added that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, which is the first visit of His Highness to the Sultanate since he assumed the presidency of the UAE, increases the ambition of the two neighbors to work on the further development of relations in its various forms, especially economic relations. For its part, the newspaper “Oman” confirmed that the bilateral summit that brings together His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, with his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said, Sultan of Oman, embodies the bonds of affection and ties of kinship. And good neighborliness that links the two brotherly countries. During the visit, a number of areas and aspects of common interest will be discussed, which will contribute to achieving the aspirations and hopes of the two countries for a more prosperous, developing and prosperous future.

The writer was optimistic about the results of the visit, stressing: “The future vision after this historic visit of the great and honorable guest of Oman, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will serve the interests of the two countries at various levels and contribute to deepening cooperation and joint coordination in various economic, commercial, investment, cultural and development fields, and push them forward. forward in order to meet the aspirations of the two countries and achieve their goals for sustainable development.” The writer recalled the historical visit of the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, to the Sultanate of Oman in 1991, which remained firmly rooted in the conscience of the Omanis, as it constituted at that time an important turning point in the course of cooperation between the two countries.
