It is only the second time that the London Slam has found itself deprived of one of its last matches, the first in the Open Era. Then it was the final that jumped
For the first time since 1931, Wimbledon will not have one of the tournament’s three final games. Almost a century ago it was even the final, won by Sidney Wood for the withdrawal of Francis Shields (the grandfather of the actress, and ex-wife of Andre Agassi, Brooke Shields), this time instead it is the semi-final of the lower part of the board between Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios. The tear in the abdomen suffered by Rafa (7 millimeters) forced him to leave the tournament on the eve of the semifinals.
