Nissan is not present in the Formula 1 Grand Prix, but in terms of technology it still got a winning prize. Let’s talk about the Green Prix 2021 award, assigned by No Smog Mobility precisely to the Japanese manufacturer and in particular to the e-Power hybrid technology.
Nissan’s e-Power system consists of an electric motor that drives the wheels and a heat engine that supplies power to the battery. This hybrid technology has been used in Japan for over three years, where it is enjoying good success, and in 2022 it will also arrive in Europe, on the new ones Qashqai and X-Trail.
For Nissan, No Smog Mobility was also an opportunity to present the roadmap towards zero emissions and zero fatal accidents. Luisa Di Vita, Communication Director Nissan Italy, illustrated the strategy that includes a strong industrial plan, the renewal of the range and innovative technologies, to achieve the objectives of 75% of sales with electrified cars by 2023 in Europe and the offer of new fully electrified models to 2030. The project also includes the launch of a new electric crossover and a new Gigafactory to produce future generation batteries.. It is hoped that the highly anticipated Ariya electric suv, which also focuses a lot on design, will also arrive on the list.
