The trial against Impagnatiello has reached a fundamental phase
The story of Giulia Tramontato keeps those who have followed the story from its initial stages in suspense. The young pregnant woman, battered by her partner, left an indelible mark on public opinion. The trial for Giulia's murder is moving towards a crucial phase, with the prosecution aiming for a life sentence for Alessandro Impagnatiello. The defense, however, appeals to the alleged mental incapacity of the 30-year-old former barman, claiming that the crime was caused by a “black out” due to psychiatric disorders.
According to the experts appointed by Impagnatiello's lawyers, the young man would suffer from a obsessive disorder and paranoid, caused by his forte narcissism. The defense filed a report with the Court of Assizes of Milan, aiming to request a psychiatric evaluation to ascertain the accused's mental defect.

The prosecution claims that Impagnatiello had been trying to poison Giulia for months, giving her alcohol rat poison and ammoniabefore killing her in May 2023. It would therefore be murder with premeditation. Giulia's sister reports in a deposition that the girl had problems with food and milk that seemed to taste strange, as well as tomatoes. Giulia also complained of a smell bleach who felt and had very strong stomach pains for which he drank many herbal teas but without finding relief. The situation was so serious that Giulia was suffering terribly and she always carried a hot water bottle with her to try to ease the pain.

The trial is moving towards its final stages, with the examination of the accused set for on May 27th, one year after the tragic event. The next steps include hearing the last prosecution witnesses on May 23rd and defense witnesses on June 10th, including the psychiatrist Raniero Rossetti and the psychologist Silvana Brancifortieditors of defense consultancy.

We just have to wait for the conclusion of this heartbreaking story and find out what the final verdict of the Milan Assize Court will be. We hope that i family members of Giulia find some comfort in the outcome of justice.
