American businessman Elon Musk, owner of the social network
The Twitter Files were a series of reports published on the social network itself (which would later have its name changed to X) after Musk bought it in 2022 and which denounced pressure from the United States government to remove content.
Recently, the Twitter Files Brazil began to be published, which accuse the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes of censorship in Brazil by ordering the removal of posts and profiles. This should be one of the main topics of the hearing with Musk in the United States House.
Among the Brazilian federal deputies who are expected to travel to Washington are Julia Zanatta (PL-SC), Bia Kicis (PL-DF), Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Marcel van Hattem (Novo-RS). The information was initially released by Folha de S.Paulo and later confirmed by Van Hattem's advisors.
Last week, a partial report from a US House subcommittee was released that accused Moraes of censorship and that included copies of the minister's orders to take down profiles and posts on X.
