Movies Cabin No. 6 received as many as 12 Jussi nominations – The jury describes the film year 2021 as “challenging but qualitatively fine”

The year 2021 Jussi candidates have been selected.

About the Jussi candidates was decided by the Filmiaura expert panel, which had discussed the decisions for a long time. The jury states in the press release that the year 2021 was “challenging but qualitatively great” for domestic film.

Despite the large-scale closures of cinemas, a total of 18 feature films meeting the Jussi criteria and eight documentaries were premiered last year.

Warsame, on the other hand, is a famous top model in Canada for an international career. Guled & Nasra is his first film role. Omar Abdi is a youth instructor by profession.

Described in Djibouti Guled & Nasra is the first Finnish film to be shot entirely on the African continent. It is also the first Finnish film in Somali.

Finnish-German-French film is also considered to be the world’s first international professional production in which the Somali language is spoken.

The film was selected as the first Finnish feature film in the Critics’ Week screening at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, and was awarded the grand prize at the largest film festivals in Africa.

The film was a Somali nominee for an Oscar in a series of non-English-language films.

Jussi Awards The best Finnish films of 2021 will be distributed at a gala at the Helsinki Cable Factory’s Merikaapelihalli on 6 May. The award ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV3.

The winners will be chosen by Filmiaura ry’s membership by closed ballot.

The audience can vote for their own favorite. In addition, the Nordisk Film Prize, worth EUR 20,000, will be awarded at the gala, which is one of the largest recognition awards in the field of arts and culture in Finland and the largest prize in the film industry.
