Pohjola drove the wood in the first special stage but was not injured. However, electricity was lost from the bike, so Pohjola had to perform maintenance.

Pohjola, 28, won the Päijänne race last year and in 2019. He is aiming for the third consecutive victory and the Päijänne Shield, which will be divided into three victories. The 2020 competition was canceled due to the corona pandemic.

In the Päijännea run, which left Asikkala’s Vääksy, 26 field trials will be run over two days. On Saturday, 112 kilometers of terrain will be accumulated and on Sunday 82. The race will end in Vantaa on Sunday.
