As Ziggo Sport announced at the end of 2021, the channel has acquired the rights from MotoGP for the next three seasons. From the start of the new season in the weekend of 4 to 6 March 2022, Ziggo Sport will broadcast all MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 training sessions, qualifications and races directly and exclusively.
During the race weekend, motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy live hours at Ziggo Sport and Ziggo Sport Totaal. The MotoGP starts on Friday with the free practice sessions. Qualifying is on Saturday followed by the race on Sunday. The Assen TT will of course also be broadcast live via Ziggo Sport and Ziggo Sport Totaal.
Ziggo Sport will frame the MotoGP broadcasts on Sunday with an extensive studio programming. Ziggo Sport has had a completely new augmented reality studio set designed especially for the MotoGP broadcasts.
Rob Kamphues is responsible for the presentation of these broadcasts. In the studio he is assisted by Barry Veneman, who, in addition to the role of analyst, can also be heard alternately with Peter Bom and commentator Frank Weeink as a co-commentator at the MotoGP races. The commentary for Moto2 and Moto3 this season will be provided by Iwan van der Valk and Nigel Walraven.
Rob van Gameren will be on site for Ziggo Sport next season at a large number of races as a pit reporter to make reports and interviews.
In any case, Ziggo Sport will make the races available for free to Ziggo customers via Ziggo Sport on channel 14 or on channel 13. The entire MotoGP package can be followed via the Ziggo Sport Totaal channels, available from all TV distribution partners in the Netherlands.
Via the online platform Ziggo Sport Totaal Go, the channel also makes five additional channels available so that you as a viewer can decide for yourself in which way you want to follow the MotoGP.
