During the three days of testing held last February, Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller were able to appreciate the layout of the new Indonesian track, starting to work on the set-up of their Desmosedici GPs in view of the race. Compared to last month, the MotoGP riders will now have to deal with new asphalt in some points of the track, as well as with variable weather conditions which will be another decisive factor during the weekend. Coming back from an unlucky first GP of the season in Qatar, which saw both of them retire from the race, the Ducati Lenovo Team riders aim to redeem themselves in Indonesia.
Francesco Bagnaia (# 63 Ducati Lenovo Team): “I am very happy to be racing in Lombok: the place is beautiful and there are so many fans who can’t wait to see us compete. I like the Mandalika track and I had positive feelings during the February test. I hope the grip conditions have improved thanks to the new asphalt, but in general I think it’s one track favorable to the characteristics of our bike. Compared to the first weekend in Qatar, I will try to work more on my driving style starting from the first sessions, in order to find the right feeling with the Desmosedici GP immediately. I am very determined and confident of being able to do well this weekend ”.
Jack Miller (# 43 Ducati Lenovo Team): “I am happy to be back on track this weekend and to finally be able to leave the Qatar race behind. The season has certainly not started as we hoped, but in Losail we were in a good position and if we hadn’t had a technical problem we would have certainly been able to aim for a good result. I therefore hope to be able to continue in the same direction and take other steps forward to be able to redeem myself on Sunday. I am ready to face any condition with the aim of obtaining a good result ”.
