The 2022 season of the World Championship opened with an all-Italian party. In fact, in the first race of the year, on the Lusail track, it was Andrea Migno, triumph in Moto3 after emerging as the winner from an incredible sprint against the Spaniard Sergio Garcia. 25 points more than deserved those collected by the Snipers team rider, who benefited from the unfortunate knockout of Sasaki – knocked out by a hull problem – but was able to always lead the group he was part of as a leader after finding himself in command. For Migno this is the first victory in the last five years. His latest success even went back to the 2017 Mugello race.
Interviewed by Sky Sport MotoGP after the race, the Italian let himself go to a great exultation, between irony and gratitude: “I am really very happy. After the checkered flag I wanted to cry as others always do – Migno joked – but I couldn’t do it, I just felt like laughing. She gave me pleasure. I tried my best to win and I won. There is nothing more beautiful than this. The result is the result of the great work of the team. They helped me a lot, during testing and here. I also thank those at home, Vale [Rossi], all the VR Academy and all those who help me. They know who they are. I know what’s inside me, but I don’t want to tell you what I think in front of the cameras. If we are here it is because we have not arrived there many times in the past. Now I want to enjoy it with my team. And then from tomorrow we will go back to work “.
